Ninety Nine Nights 2 | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
112Previously I had archived the Musou inspired Xbox 360 exclusive game Ninety Nine Nights and many people forgot that this game existed. But what even more people don't know is that this game actually had a sequel. Ninety Nine Nights 2 was a gigantic financial flop and it actually took me very long to find a physical copy to archive it on the channel. But I am glad that I finally found one so that it can live on here on my channel and not be forgotten to time.
Ironically a certain moment at a press conference is far more famous than this game is. One of the producers had a very unique way of presenting and promised the players that they could partake in battles involving....one million troops. A sentence that would go down in history.
Now unfortunately the game never comes close to presenting battles with a million troops and in many ways it is actually a step down compared to the first game. One thing it did definitely improve on is the presentation when it comes to the cutscenes and voice acting. The character models and cutscenes are of a very high quality. But the gameplay itself is very repetitive as you will be going through the same levels over and over again. And instead of presenting gigantic, epic battles like the first game did, in Ninety Nine Nights 2 you are mostly fighting by yourself against hordes of enemies.
I missed the legions of friendly troops in the background to make the battles feel more epic in scope. There are moments when there are friendly troops coming to your aid but usually not more than 10 or 20. Whereas in Ninety Nine Nights 1 you often had a few hundred friendlies around you.
Another part I thought was very satisfying was how you could upgrade your character in many different ways and stats. You could really customize your playstyle as each character can have 4 special abilities that very greatly. Overall I was happy to finally experience this game, but I don't think I will ever return to it in the future. It will now be safe and sound on the channel of The Game Archivist.
