Last week the second exclusive game was released for the Switch 2 in the form of Donkey Kong Bananza. It has been many years since DK had its own 3D platformer and this was made by the same team who gave us the excellent Mario Odyssey.
Donkey Kong Bananza revolves around everyone's favorite gorilla who needs to travel to the center of the earth to retrieve a load of stolen bananas. He is accompanied by a young Pauline who can transform DK in various animals by the power of her singing voice. The big thing with Bananza is how the entire levels are destructable and you can pretty much flatten everything.
This brings new gameplay mechanics as you can solve puzzles in different ways by punching your way through walls, floors and ceilings.
It is an absolute blast to play Bananza and I had a smile from ear to ear as I was collecting bananas, fossils, coins and other collectibles. Completionists have their work cut out for them as there is a ton to collect.
The controls are tight, the stages are colorful and vibrant, the music is amazing and overal Donkey Kong Bananza is just a very fun and good time. It is an absolute must buy for fans of platform games.
