One of my notorious "quick" looks at my collection of Nintendo Game Boys. I remember when the Game Boy was first released in Japan as I was on student exchange (1989/1990) at the time ... it was amazing! Couldn't buy one as they were constantly sold out but I did get to play on one during a long road trip ... WOW!

In this video I also mod my Pocket Printer so I can use an external power supply instead of relying on batteries.

00:00 ... some minutes rambling about different Game Boys
08:30 ... unboxing of the Game Boy Pocket Printer
13:14 ... one week later ...
17:30 ... looking for my tri-wing screw driver
20:45 ... opening up the Pocket Printer
26:40 ... installing a DC power socket
28:30 ... testing

[1] "Coloured" Game Boy (GB) ... my 2nd ever GB bought back in the 90s, the same as the original but with a different coloured case
[2] Game Boy Pocket ... much better display ... but mine's gone weird 🥹 This one had no on/off switch protection to stop you removing the cartridge whilst powered on
[3] Game Boy Color (GBC) ... yay ... a colour display ... but no backlight
[4] Game Boy Advance (GBA) ... WOW
[5] Game Boy Advance SP ... hand-cramping design but we finally have a built-in backlight (outside of Japan!)
[6] DS ... we still call them "Game Boys" in our house ... backwards compatible with the GBA, but not original GB (cartridge won't physically fit)
[7] 3DS ... some sort of Zelda special edition ... but you had glasses-free 3D

In Part 3 I am hoping to look at ways of retrieving your Game Boy Camera pictures. Obviously there is loads of information already available on this ...
