So this almost verifies a Pokémon Emerald glitched run can be done, at least just before the Elite Four. Using the Bad EGG corruption glitch; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3XreB4GLnE you can get glitch moves that mess with a Pokémon battle.

Simply viewing the name of this one changes the battle type to Prof. Birch's mode used for the battle with the Poochyena and a Double Battle. You can't run with the "RUN" option because Birch says "Don't leave me like this!" but you can escape with a Fluffy Tail, and the game will say you "forfeited", but you can still continue. Alternatively, you can catch your opponent with a Ultra Ball/Master Ball, etc. and they will turn into a Bad EGG that will be sent to a box if you have a full party; I haven't tested a party with one available slot yet. The latter method is not recommended though, as there's a chance the opponent will escape and faint your Bad EGG, causing you to white out and have your Pokémon's health restored.

There are no visible side effects of having a Bad EGG in the Hall of Fame. Index number of move: 0400.
