Old School RuneScape - Game Review
Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is the ultimate love hate relationship video game. You love it because of how amazing it is but you hate it because it steals your life away from you.
Welcome to the fictional world of Gielinor, a vast land filled with dangerous monsters and annoying I mean amazing quests. It is about as pure as a fantasy world can get except there are quite a few real world jokes and 4th wall breaking moments so I wouldn't call it's world and lore particularly immersive or a selling point. The objective of the game is to level your skills to 99, which will take several hundreds of hours to do. You will make friends along the way in your personal journey to become the greatest in the game . . . Or you can ignore all that and do whatever you want of course.
OSRS is the best MMORPG on the market currently in my opinion. It might be swarmed with bots but it still has a social atmosphere and an extremely healthy and functioning economy through the Grand Exchange which is much better than something like World of Warcraft's Auction House. It's one of the few MMOs that isn't becoming outright antisocial or entirely singleplayer like many of it's competitors in the genre. OSRS is also more relevant than other with Jagex officially recognising RuneLite as the superior way to play and continuing to provide new community voted content updates to this day.
The world is huge and there is so much to do in it. You will feel extremely satisfied watching your account progress from being brand new on Tutorial Island to acquiring your first Fire or Quest cape. Increasing your bank value is the name of the game at the end of the day and there is a seemingly infinite methods to do that. The game features great end game content with challenging and rewarding PvM boss fights and raids.
OSRS is the best in the market currently, and it would take something drastic to change that. It has an extremely addicted and dedicated fanbase who for the most part are much more friendly and welcoming than other games.
