OneXPlayer R7-4800U Long Term Test | Dead at 13months old. 😢
1st - Sorry for the Somber content - But I'm genuinely sad to see my OXP 4800U like this.
As you know I game 99% with handhelds these days and in the last 13months I've put literally hundreds of hours of time into my OneXPlayer Ryzen 7 4800U gaming and researching to create dozens of videos. And its repaid me with great gaming and 100's of YouTube watch hours from you the watching public (even if its a 97%/3% split of non-subs to subs).
But sadly yesterday when researching a simple video on how to tweak your UMA settings my OXP 4800U died. I was scrolling through the options in BIOS and decided it would be easier with a keyboard attached, plugged one in and my OXP switched off. Strange but it just turned off, so I turned it back on and nothing, totally dead.
After a lot of googling it might simply be that the BIOS corrupted on plugging in the keyboard, not something I've ever seen before (I've worked on PCs for quarter of a century, so been around the block a bit)
I've reached out to the company that sold me the OXP and they've gone through some basic troubleshooting with no joy. And I've just reached out to @one-netbook7031 (on their customer service form) in the hope they can assist me.😢
Sadly this could mean the end of the road for my OneXPlayer 4800U content. As small non-monetized channel I can't afford to buy and throw away hardware.
If you've watched this video then why not follow the channel, maybe watch some of the more cheerful content and support me by helping me on my journey to eventual monetization when purchasing new hardware isn't so painful, or perhaps if any suppliers want to sponsor a video with something to review. @minisforum you interested in "loaning" me something with better graphics than my RX5500XT that I can test with a streaming focused handheld (Thanks @abxylute) 😙
