Oriclopedia: Oric Nova 64 repair (Part 1 - Initial diagnostic)
In 2020 I managed to find three Oric Nova 64, complete in box, but non working and sold "for parts".
Technically the Oric Nova 64 is based on the Oric Atmos, but was built in the former Yugoslavia from various existing parts, resulting in quite differences, some minor such as the different gummy feet or type of screws, some more important like the different type of memory chips and layout, or the fact that the Microdisc enclosure was reused as a way to store the power supply.
This specific specimen is actually mostly working, the keyboard, sound, cpu, etc... are all working, but the display is garbled.

This is only the first part, I'm going to consult experts of the field to see what should be the next step, and hopefully we can get this machine fixed!
As usual, feel free to comment if you have remarks, suggestions, questions, or ideas of topics you'd like to be covered in my videos.
