After the 1994 Connectix QuickCam (https://youtu.be/t4G-JwuttsQ) and the 1998 Color QuickCam VC (https://youtu.be/5-cSmNRRfvw) we continue the exploration of the wonderful world of the PC Parallel Port Peripherals with this 1996 Midiman Portman PC/P Midi Interface.

Most retro PC would have used something like a MPU-401 expansion on a Sound Blaster card (or equivalent), but that required an expansion port, so this solution was not possible for laptops.

This Midiman interface on the other hand works fine on anything that has a parallel port, which is pretty much all the PC compatible computer at the time.

On this video the interface is connected to a 1993 Korg AG-10 (Audio Gallery) and Creative Labs Pebble speakers, and the VU Meter is a cheap AK2515.

The music is Rick Astley's 1987 "Never_Gonna_Give_You_Up" hit song.
