Outriders (demo) — part 7 [END] — Lieutenant McCain
0Time to finally go about finding Lieutenant McCain, something that we should've done in the last episode, but got side-tracked by another sidequest within this sidequest.
He seems to be hiding beyond a broken bridge we encountered before already. It wasn't traversable back then, but with the power of a cutscene we can jump it now without much issue. Then we go through the standard fare of dealing with all enemies we can from the cover we have, switching cover, rinsing and repeating until we clear an arena. So that we can repeat the same song and dance in the next one.
A Captain enemy does give us some grief, though. Backed by a couple of snipers and other ads, possessing the power of spawning a black hole near us even when we're out of his line of sight, and said black hole teleporting us in the middle of a pack of enemies, he does manage to down us.
That, and some weird aura that stops cover from working. Oh, you wanted to hide from sniper fire? Nah, your spacebar doesn't work now, you have to awkwardly step back, then get closer again, and now you can hide. Git gud scrub.
Eventually, we do deal with the captain as well, though, and we can meet McCain. Who deals with some other enemies, and is promptly being dealt with himself. Pure karma.
We also see the first alien creature since the prologue! Some walking whale-like glowing creature strolling casually through the battlefield. We don't fight it, of course, it's just in a cutscene.
We return this quest, start a main story mission, watch a trailer for the game, and... that's where the demo ends. That's all, folks. Now all that's left, is some Final Thoughts video that should be uploaded on the channel tomorrow.
