Today I bring you one of the most unknown but highly rated space shooters for the NES: Over Horizon.
A game developed by HOT-B and programmed by the same people who made Sagaia for the Famicom. And it shows.
Here you not only have impressive graphics for an 8-bit game, but also multiple scrolling modes,
parallax effects, and gameplay that goes beyond the typical "shoot and dodge."
In Over Horizon, you can customize your shot,
move backward on the screen, and solve small sections with puzzle-like elements.
The music is amazing, worthy of a fourth-generation game, and the controls are incredibly smooth.
It was never officially released in Japan, but there is an English version. And believe me: if you like Gradius or R-Type, you'll be hooked.
