For the first time in a while, I'm starting from the Desert entrance to get progress. On this mission, despite Dismount Mates being there, I decided to use Cool Rush. I used the Bat Shrine as a fast travel option to get to the switch to unlock the door.
I feel like taking that Heart from the tree at 2 below max health was likely a bad move. The moment at 26:32 confirms my suspicions - I could've really used that heart right there. I was already regretting the decision I made before I even made it to the intersection above the tile.
On the Boomerang Golem, I called in Tattoad last-second to get the mount a Level Up. However, overall, I feel like my use of Pets was not as resourceful as they could've been - I even used one just to get past a spike-filled corridor since my currently-ridden mount at the time was a Dodger.
After selling some stats at a "Down On Your Luck?" Altar, I decided to go back for the fruit to get some more health/stamina. A Cracktus was right next to it. The health gain from the Ammo Bush was a net loss.
A common theme of this run is forgetting that a Cracktus exists in the way of my goals. In total, I took damage from a Cracktus 7 times in this Quest. When attempting Gamma Cavern, I ran into a Cracktus FOUR TIMES. Two of those lost my mounts, and the last one was my defeat. Luckily, the rescue balloon is capable of lifting out of a cavern filled with serious radiation hazards in under 7 minutes.
