PBR Battle 43: Black Magic
3The first of my second set of matches, and a pretty interesting opponent. Generally, you can tell what to expect from a lack of held items, but in this case, half had items and the other half didn't. From looking at their friend pass, it seems that those with items were lv 50, EV trained and had decent natures, while the other half weren't.
The best explanation is that this person is in the process of making a full team, but has only half the Pokemon trained up, and simply wants to test it so far. I actually did something similar, I had a DS battle when this team was only half finished. (although I had Latias on it then)
This battle also showed Mismagius's full potential. It's ideally suited to setting up on 'weak' special moves. (mostly those coming from a wall, especially Blissey or Creselia) Of course, the best possible situation happened here, getting a Sub up on a status move, guaranteeing at least one Nasty Plot. I've wanted to show just how dangerous Mismagius's now move can be for a while. Sadly, I have a very strong feeling they'll take away it's uniqueness by giving Nasty Plot to Gengar in the next gen.
