PC Games: Paganitzu
0Although Apogee was mainly known for its platformers, it also produced a number of games in other genres, such as Paganitzu, a top-down tile-based puzzle game. Each room has a number of keys that Alabama Smith must collect to open the door to the next room, as well as various hazards, bonuses, and secrets.
As all good puzzle games do, Paganitzu gradually introduces more puzzle elements as the game progresses, and the rooms gradually increase in difficulty and complexity. And there are tradeoffs if you're going for a high score. Do you rush through the room to maximize your time bonus, or explore every nook and cranny to find secrets for their bonuses? Do you play it safe and skip gems in hazardous places, or go after them and risk losing a life and having to restart the room?
The game plays a lot like Chip's Challenge, come to think of it. If you like that, you'll probably like Paganitzu!
