This, of course, is the fortress of World 2, and the first fortress (or any kind of level with a boss) I've shown off. Being in a beach/ocean world, this fortress does involve water, though not too much. And as usual, it introduces a few new enemies and gameplay mechanics. Kamek is the boss of this and all of the other fortresses, with a different attack pattern every time. (Though I wonder if I should limit how many sprites he can spawn at once...or maybe have him perform some sort of ultimate attack when there are more than about 5 other sprites active at once?) I'll probably change the "boss defeated" music, though to what, I don't know.

Of course, this is something you certainly couldn't do in Super Mario Maker. Custom music? Smashing spikes? Water partway up the screen? Climbing nets? A boss that isn't Bowser or Bowser Jr? A level that has a checkpoint? Heck, I could have even put slopes in this level if I'd needed them, which I know is quite a novel idea. Not to mention you can see an actual overworld at the beginning and end. Though the level doesn't have 8+ Piranha Plants or Hammer Bros. stacked on top of each other either, which probably makes it not as cool as it could be.
