Let's Analyze Dynomite Deluxe - Part 3: Time and Time Again
Sorry for the lateness...I was pretty busy, and more importantly, without Internet access, for the last week or so. In any case, it's time to try the second game mode...or actually, the fourth, since we're saving the second and third for later because they're not nearly as quick nor as easy to explain. Time Trial mode is basically nothing more than a glorified high score speedrun; you cannot actually fail this game mode because the eggs will always be above the warning line (if you get one below it, the puzzle simply moves up a row to compensate), and the only real objective is to clear all the eggs in as little time as you can manage. Or, if you prefer, to just take it slow and relax without fear of losing. The thing is, there are only three different "levels" in this mode, one for each difficulty setting, each of which gives you an expanse of randomly-generated eggs (think Endless Mode without the eggs moving downward). The difficulty settings affect the number of egg colors in the puzzle and the number of rows you must clear: Easy has 5 colors and 60 rows, Normal has 7 colors and 30 rows, and Hard has 9 colors and 15 rows. I get bored of Time Trial even quicker than I get bored of Endless, but I've managed to get some at least decent scores in it nevertheless. And now that we've covered the simple and lame game modes, next time, we will be moving on to the fun ones.
