Perfect Playthrough: Sonic 3 & Knuckles Part 16 Finale
1This series began right as Sonic 2 was released in theaters. So it's fitting that this final episode would be uploaded right as the film is about to hit store shelves and streaming services. In this final episode, I go for the Perfect Playthrough of Sonic 3 as a standalone game to go over some of the differences between it and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. As the game is basically just the first half of Sonic 3 & Knuckles anyways, my commentary wasn't really in direct reaction to the gameplay so much more as I was revisiting old childhood memories, going over my time growing up and beating each of these games for the very first time. Sonic 3 standalone in particular is sentimental because outside of some educational titles like Math Blaster and Carmen Sandiego, as well as family cooperative events like Tekken 2, this was the very first video game that I had beaten solo.
It was a fun ride while it lasted. But now all good things must come to an end. Maybe when I get my hands on Sonic Origins, I might revisit the classic Sonic games again as well as Sonic CD (which I have yet to cover). But until then, this is Mike Gordan signing out.
