761In Part 1 of the Persona 5 playthrough, Akira Kurusu is a fish out of water, a country boy shipped off to the big city. This time it WAS something way more serious. But who knows, maybe adventure awaits in Tokyo for our high school hero? It usually does. I mean, that's where the apocalypse happens every five years or so.
In the horrible, twisted fantasy land of Modern Day Japan(tm), a crack team of ordinary teenagers must pull off a series of heists in the Metaverse formed of society's collective unconscious, stealing the distorted desires of evildoers in order to make them confess their crimes. But what is the Metaverse in the first place, and why did this weird app just download itself onto their phones? Even more mysteriously, how did Japan manage to make a game that's so entrenched in Japanese social commentary successful in the west?! People actually want to learn about foreign cultures? What a world we live in!
