you can actually fight this boss right after Zio but you'd only have a party of Chaz, Rika, and Rune. Personally I don't recommend that because as you can see even with higher levels and stronger equipment it still does some pretty high damage. Being an ooze it is weak to fire. You can do this boss pretty much whenever you want but my advise is wait until you get Wren.
