Pikmin 2 - Challenge Mode 22: Subterranean Lair
10Two players enter the Subterranean Lair and best an ambush!
Bulbears roam around in Pikmin 2 as they never sleep. So they can be very hard to kill without a strategy. But here, you are dropped into a wide box where 3 of them are walking around. There's a good chance than when you start this stage, up to 2 Bulbears will be in your face in about two seconds, leaving very little time to react.
So I quickly run distraction to gather the Bulbears and Dwarf Bulbears together while Danzonator keeps the Pikmin away for a moment. Once the foes are all in proximity, use an ultra bitter spray and an Ultra Spicy spray to carve model the threats. Note that this strategy can be used in single player. There is a AI used for the captain you don't control that automatically avoids most basic enemy threats.
The problem with this strategy is than where you shatter a corpse, it can't be collected for pokos/points. So if you are very critical about getting a high score, then you have some timing to figure out. A follow up may be in order...
