This area is believed to be one of the hardest caves in the game. Let's have a look...

Note that I've cut this from the video: All non-relevant surface traversal in the Perplexing Pool, and each time the game saves data (It's automatic, yet somewhat annoying). This was also done in a single take, so no retries were used. Proof of this is my bad luck showing up like almost not being able to defeat the Fiery Bulblax for example....

Many times, I've seen people struggle with this place. You are forced to bring blue Pikmin only, and all types of hazards are present. So the only salvation you will be given in this area are Bulbmin.

In case you didn't know, Bulbmin are ultimately Pikmin with the benefits of being immune to fire, lightning and poison, plus they can trek in water. You will be making heavy use of them if you don't have a huge number of Pikmin.

Actually, I think this is a common mistake people make often. You really don't need to enter caves with 100 Pikmin. If you do that here, you're only going to make it harder on yourself since you won't get any Bulbmin, unless you suffer casualties as you go. This also means that the lightning posts will have to be swarmed. Do this incorrectly, and you'll be seeing a sizzle-fest courtesy of your Blue Pikmin.

But don't forget about the main attraction: The Water Wraith. If you stay around a Sublevel for long enough, this being will drop from the sky and start rolling along wherever it wants. It seems to follow you if you're close, but somewhat loosely. As the ship mentions, attacking it is futile, since you have no means of damaging it. This is bad because any treasure you want to get back might just end up in the Waterwraith's path and lead to massive Pikmin slaughter. So you need to keep track of where the wraith is, because any stray Pikmin on the floor could be sitting ducks for that being. Even enemies get one-shotted by the Waterwraith.

When you get down to the Last Sublevel, there will be Violet Candypop Buds that you need to use. Convert 10 Bulbmin (if you have any) into Purple and then run to the center. It seems the Waterwraith weakens whenever it's nearby should a Purple Pikmin cause that resounding thud slamming downwards. But I've played the Bully Den before this so yeah...
