PlayStation 3 Exclusives 2011 Edition Pt2 - PS Vita
3Hello, and welcome back to another PlayStation GameZown yearly E3 montage. In the Part 1 video, we took a glance at a few of the new games coming out for use with the PlayStation Move controller. In this video, I will be showcasing the new PlayStation Portable that was codenamed NextGenPortable, or NGP. The official name for the new handheld PlayStation system is PS Vita! Why Vita? Because Vita means life, and this new portable device will bring new life to anything that comes near it. If you see withering, dying flowers, just place the Vita near it, and watch the flowers spring back to life!
Okay, so it's not that magical, but it is an incredible handheld system that has processing power similar to a PS3, with more features than any other gaming handheld device on the market today. It has 2 analog sticks, a beautiful multi touch oled screen, front and rear touch pads, six axis motion controls, with front and rear cameras! Not to mention, it looks to be getting some attention from some great developers!
Let's take a look at some of the games that are in development for the new PS Vita, which is set to come out by this Holiday season!
Little Big Planet - This is a completely NEW Little Big Planet, not taken from the PS3, and not taken from the PSP. Made specifically to take advantage of the new PS Vitas touch screen controls, and looks to be a blast to play. This new Little Big Planet is set to come out when PS Vita launches this holiday 2011.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss - Yep, that's right. Nathan Drake is back to hunt down more treasure, beat up the bad guys, and save the girl(s), in this exciting new chapter of Uncharted, which can only be found on the new PS Vita! This title shows just how great a first generation game will look on the PlayStation Vita! Get ready to be blown away by Vita's impressive visual capabilities in Uncharted: Golden Abyss this holiday, 2011!
Street Fighter X Tekken - The new Street Fighter X (cross) Tekken, blends together the worlds of Street Fighter with the Tekken series, giving a new fighting experience never found before in any fighting game. And to make this incredible fighter even better, CAPCOM is introducing Cole Mcgrath from inFAMOUS, to the roster on the PS Vita version of the game. It looks awesome, and is set for release when Vita launches.
This is just a small sample of what is coming to the PS Vita this holiday season, and there are over 80 other titles being developed right now for the PS Vita from some of the hottest game creators in the industry. I believe after you sit down, and try out the PS Vita, the only things left on your mind will be, of coarse, how awesome it is. The second would be, how much does this incredible piece of divine awesomeness cost? Well, I'm happy to say that there are two (2) different Vita's to choose from. A $249 model with Wi-Fi capability, and a $299 model that has 3G support along with Wi-Fi. That's right, this handheld is more powerful, and more capable than any other handheld on the market, with a better software lineup, and at the same cost as the competitor.
So in the end, you need to ask yourself what's more important. A handheld device that has a smaller screen, not as powerful of hardware, and controls of a last generation handheld device, OR, would you want to pay the same price and get a handheld with real next gen features. A brighter more vibrant touch screen, controls of a real next gen handheld, and a solid software line up from the best developers in the industry making games that look, and feel, like true home console titles, and not just miniture adventures of the home console games. That's right, for the first time since the Sega Nomad, you can finally play games that are just as incredible in storyline, music, graphics, and controls, as any title you will get on a home console of this generation.
