The first half of this segment had many things that could go wrong. I needed to get through the first patch of grass without getting an encounter before using a Repel. I also had to avoid a few annoying spinners and I fought an optional Hiker for exp. I also needed to get an Abra that would teleport if I failed to catch it on the first turn at full health. The Poochyena in the Rustturf Tunnel could use Sand Attack and the spinner girl could get me again.
The second half was a lot easier and I went through all the dialogue in the Devon Corp. I received the Pokénav and the very annoying Match Call which most future resets come from. I bought some Super Potions, Repels and X-items and I teleported back to Petalburg City.
