At long last, Pokémon HOME has finally received the update for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus, where they now have Pokémon HOME compatability.
There are some things that I want to go over, when you first deposit a Pokémon from either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, you will receive the Sinnoh Starters with their Hidden Abilities, Turtwig has Shell Armor, Chimchar has Iron Fist, and Piplup has Defiant, and if you deposit a Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will receive Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott, and they have 10 Effort Points in all of their stats, you do need to have Pokémon HOME on mobile devices to receive the gifts.
There are some things to take note of, and that goes with certain Pokémon, at the time, you cannot place a Nincada in Pokémon HOME into Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, and you cannot move Spinda between those two games and Pokémon HOME, you cannot put a Pikachu, Eevee, or Meowth that have the Gigantamax Mark into Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. In the mobile version, you can check your Pokédex, which keeps track of Pokémon you have caught in that game, for example, the Galar Dex will only update if you deposit Pokémon from Sword & Shield that are in the Galar Dex, so far, it has the Hisui Dex, Sinnoh Dex, Galar Dex, Isle of Armor Dex, Crown Tundra Dex, the Kanto Pokédex from Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee!, and the Pokémon GO Dex.
In this video, I show a bunch of stuff not only in Pokémon HOME, well I do show the Pokémon from the Hisui region that can now be deposited into Pokémon HOME, but I show some things in the main series games, you can now have a full complete Pokédex in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, because before the Pokémon HOME update, you couldn't have Celebi or Deoxys in your Pokédex, well now you can, and I show you how to change Deoxys's Formes, what you have to do is go to Veilstone City, interact with the meteorites, you need to have Deoxys in your party to do this, and that will change Deoxys's Forme.
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, if you put in a Pokémon that was caught in Sword & Shield, or in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the Pokémon will be in a Strange Ball, that is what it's really called, and that is what your Pokémon will be in if you put them into that game, and in order to get the complete Pokédex Entry, you need to have Research Level 10 with that Pokémon in order for its Pokédex Entry to be complete in Pokémon HOME, a Pokémon will be in a Strange Ball in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl if they were transferred over from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Another thing about transferring Pokémon is that any Pokémon from previous games transferred over to Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, including Sword & Shield, will have their moves changed to their regular level up moves they would know at that level, this is likely because Hidden Power is in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but only Unown can learn it, so they likely did it so that Hidden Power can remain as Unown's signature move, although the downside is we can't use Zapdos with Heat Wave in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, and I can understand for Pokémon Legends: Arceus as there are some moves introduced in that game that are not in the other Gen 8 games, and some moves not in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so I can understand why they did that.
With the update, there is no update for Sword & Shield that brings back the entire National Dex, which means there are some Pokémon that are completely absent from Generation 8, I will list each of the Pokémon that cannot be in a Gen 8 game.
Snivy, Servine, Serperior, Tepig, Pignite, Emboar, Samurott (Unova), Patrat, Watchog, Pansage, Simisage, Pansear, Simisear, Panpour, Simipour, Blitzle, Zebstrika, Sewaddle, Swadloon, Leavanny, Ducklett, Swanna, Deerling, Sawsbuck, Alomomola, Tynamo, Eelektrik, Eelektross, Meloetta, Chespin, Quilladin, Chesnaught, Fennekin, Braixen, Delphox, Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja, Scatterbug, Spewpa, Vivillon, Litleo, Pyroar, Flabébé, Floette, Florges, Skiddo, Gogoat, Furfrou, Hoopa, Pikipek, Trumbeak, Toucannon, Yungoos, Gumshoos, Crabrawler, Crabominable, Oricorio, Minior, Komala, Bruxish

As with the Pokémon on the list, there were some that I really liked using in online battles, like Eelektross and Minior, and there are some that have seen top tier usage in the competitive scene, like Greninja, Serperior, and a few others, and there are some that I don't care about, like Watchog and Bruxish, I do hope that some of the Pokémon will be in Generation 9 comes.
