Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky Playthrough 70: Heatran and the Fiery Drum
I have decided to go for the seven treasures in the next few parts, first up is Giant Volcano, where the Fiery Drum is located. Giant Volcano has a lot of Fire type Pokémon, and that the Fiery Drum is guarded by Heatran, the Legendary Fire and Steel type Pokémon said to dwell in volcanic caves.
As the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description.
Giant Volcano has very similar encounters to Dark Crater, the Pokémon found there are Chimchar, Ponyta, Numel, Torchic, Charmander, Growlithe, Cyndaquil, Slugma, Charmeleon, Arcanine, Rapidash, Flareon, Quilava, Magcargo, Combusken, Camerupt and Monferno. The evolved Pokémon are quite tough, Camerupt can use Earth Power, a dangerous move to deal with if you are in a big room and there is a Camerupt inside.
I took Houndoom with me as its Flash Fire can help against the Fire type moves, and about Kabutops, I was going to take Garchomp along at first, but decided on Kabutops, as its Rock and Water typing allows it to resist Fire type moves, but Camerupt's Earth Power can be very dangerous.
Two Legendary Pokémon can be encountered in Giant Volcano, first up is Moltres, found on the 10th floor, it is at Level 44 and for moves, it can have Agility, AncientPower and Flamethrower. For Level up moves, Moltres can learn Heat Wave, Air Slash, Roost, Sunny Day, SolarBeam and Sky Attack, making Moltres a tough Pokémon to deal with in the sun. In Explorers of Time & Darkness, Moltres would be found on the 40th floor of the Final Maze of Marowak Dojo.
Moltres's Exclusive Item, the Fire Veil is found at Zero Isle North on the 19th floor, it requires a Key to obtain the item, it has a chance of leaving Moltres with 1 HP if hit by a fatal blow.
The guardian of Giant Volcano, Heatran is a tough foe unless you have some Water and Ground type moves with you. Heatran is Level 49, and interesting fact about Heatran is that it is the only Legendary Pokémon that can be either Male or Female, all other Legendary Pokémon are either Genderless or have a set Gender. Heatran can use AncientPower, Metal Sound, Fire Fang, Crunch and Lava Plume for its possible moves, and through level up, it can learn Iron Head, Earth Power, Heat Wave, Stone Edge, and its signature move of Magma Storm. It has great access to some TMs, like SolarBeam, Dragon Pulse, Earthquake, Overheat, Flash Cannon, Dark Pulse and a few others.
Heatran's Exclusive Item, the Searing Ring, which can be found in Zero Isle West on the 25th floor, restores Heatran's health fully when it enters a new floor.
The Fiery Drum is one of the seven treasures, guarded by Heatran, it is said to increase the chances of recruiting Fire type Pokémon.
