I now know that the second trash can is always random next to the first and I reset until I had the best result. I used Mega Punch on Surge's Pikachu and Dig on Voltorb and Raichu. The latter could KO me with Thunderbolt combined with Voltorb's Sonic Boom. I obtained the Bike Voucher and I used Dig to warp to Cerulean City. I got the Bicycle and I put it in front of my bag. The first trainer has two Oddish and they could both use a powder attack. Venonat also survives a Bubblebeam and it could use Disable.
