The Hiker was no threat, but critical hits here were annoying. There was another Oddish who liked to use powder attacks that never miss and the Gambler had a Vulpix with Quick Attack to lose more time. I also could have skipped the hidden Nugget in the Underground Path, but I still followed the single segment route completely back then.
I skipped the Celadon Pokécenter and I sold my TM's, Nuggets and Antidote. I bought 9 X-Accuracy's (should have been 7), 2 X-Attacks, 5 X-Speeds and 9 X-Specials. I also got 2 Fresh Waters and I traded one for the TM Ice Beam. I also bought the TM Mega Kick, 9 Super Repels (should have been 7) and extra Super Potions. I also receive Fly and I taught that to Spearow. I also taught Ice Beam and Mega Kick to Wartortle. I also put my Super Repels in front of my bag.

Saved at 0:59 with a L30 Wartortle.
