I called this event happening, because we had the Cinderace event happen last week, and will happen again next week, and with the Charizard event, we had the Tyranitar and Salamence event in between. This weekend event features Hydreigon and Dragapult, both Pseudo Legendary Pokémon and are version exclusive, Hydreigon being exclusive to Scarlet, and Dragapult is exclusive to Violet, but you can enter the opposite version's Tera Raid through the Poké Portal.
I trained up more Pokémon for the Tera Raids, and customized some moves on some Pokémon that I have used to make them more suited for Tera Raids, I don't have a team for online matches ready yet, I have the five Pokémon out of the six that I have planned ready, and so far I have only completed two of those Pokémon. Some new Pokémon I train up for this video are Kingambit, the evolved form of Bisharp, and if you are wondering, I prefer Bisharp over Kingambit, because Bisharp is one of my favourite Pokémon from Gen 5 and one of my favourite Dark-types, I don't mind Kingambit as a Pokémon, but at least the one improvement to Bisharp in this game is that it can hold Eviolite and benefit from it. I train up some more Paradox Pokémon, and if you are wondering, I haven't beaten Pokémon Scarlet at the time of recording this video, so I don't have any of the past Paradox Pokémon or Koraidon yet, but anyway, the Paradox Pokémon I chose to train for this event is Iron Jugulis, and if you are wondering what the heck Jugulis means, it is Latin of like throat or neck, referencing its three heads, and its Japanese name translates to Iron Head, the reason why the name is not used is because there is already a move called Iron Head in the game. I chose Iron Jugulis because of its resemblance to Hydreigon, it is a Dark/Flying-type, and compared to Hydreigon, it has less Special Attack, but more Speed, and it can't learn Nasty Plot. I am not a fan of Iron Jugulis as a Pokémon, it is literally just a robot Hydreigon, at least it is not Brute Bonnet, which is my least favourite Paradox Pokémon, in case you don't know what Brute Bonnet is, it is the prehistoric Amoonguss.
Going over the two Pokémon, Hydreigon can have the Steel Tera Type, and Dragapult can have the Dragon Tera Type, they can have any type, and starting with Hydreigon, its moves are Draco Meteor, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, and Slam in the 5 Star Tera Raids, and its extra moves are Scary Face and Work Up, the 4 Star Hydreigon has Dragon Pulse instead of Draco Meteor, and Work Up instead of Nasty Plot. The Steel Tera Type for Hydreigon pairs really well, as its type combo gives it a 4x weakness to Fairy, and it can Terastallize to a Steel-type to resist those Fairy-type moves, making it great for defense. Hydreigon can learn Flash Cannon to blast any Fairy-type Pokémon that try to exploit its glaring weakness, and it does come with Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse, and Draco Meteor for moves, and it learns a wide amount of TMs, like Snarl, U-turn, Thunder Wave, Taunt, Tailwind, Stealth Rock, Flamethrower, Surf, Earth Power, Focus Blast, and many other moves.
Then onto Dragapult, its Hidden Ability is Cursed Body, while this can make Dragapult a very tough opponent to take down, specially with Azumarill that only have Play Rough and no other moves that do reliable damage. Clear Body is a really annoying Ability to deal with, one example being that Garganacl that I fight against in this video, and this isn't the first time I take on a Garganacl in the 6 Star Tera Raids, and it didn't help that the Dondozo kept using Chilling Water to try and lower its Attack without any luck. Back to Dragapult, its moves in the 5 Star Tera Raids are Dragon Darts, Draco Meteor, Hex, and Flamethrower, and it can have Will-O-Wisp and Dragon Dance for extra moves, the 4 Star Tera Raids for Dragapult have Dragon Dance and Will-O-Wisp in place of Draco Meteor and Flamethrower. The Dragon Tera Type pairs well with Dragapult, and one thing about Terastallization is that when the Pokémon is Terastallized, if they use a move that matches their Tera Type with a base power of 60 or less, their power is increased to 60, don't know if that affects Dragon Darts as it doesn't normally affect multi-hit moves. The Dragon Tera Type gives Dragon Darts extra power, and its Draco Meteor can really hurt, or if you want to go defensively, Dragapult can work with the Steel Tera Type to resist Ice and Fairy-type moves, or you can go with Dark to resist Ghost and Dark-type moves. While the best Physical Ghost-type move Dragapult can use is Phantom Force, you can give it Tera Blast to give it a reliable Physical Ghost-type move when Terastallized, and it can learn U-turn, Psychic Fangs, Reflect, Light Screen, Dragon Claw, Thunder Wave, Shadow Ball, Surf, Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump, and many other moves, Dragapult has excellent versatility, and it has high Speed and good offensive stats to make those work.
