We get another Tera Raid Event, and this one is not themed around version exclusives, instead it is themed around two Pokémon, those two are Sylveon and Garchomp, and they can be found with various Tera Types. There is a higher chance of finding Sylveon with the Fairy Tera Type and Garchomp with the Ground Tera Type in the 5 Star Tera Raid Battles. Before starting this video, I show a bunch of Mystery Gift codes, a Destiny Bond and two Love Balls, which came out last week, and another Mystery Gift code which is only available for a short time, it is a Garganacl that was used in the VGC Regional Championships, it has Salt Cure, Recover, Wide Guard, and Protect, and it has a Poison Tera Type and is holding a Leftovers.
Going over the Tera Raid Bosses, Garchomp in the 4 Star Tera Raids have Bulldoze, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, and Bite, with Sandstorm as an additional move, while the 5 Star Tera Raids for Garchomp have Earthquake and Iron Head instead of Bulldoze and Bite, and it has Swords Dance for an additional move, Garchomp would use Sandstorm on the first turn, it is recommended you have a Pokémon that can change the weather in case Garchomp has Sand Veil. Sylveon in the 4 Star Tera Raids have Hyper Voice, Take Down, Disarming Voice, and Charm, with Calm Mind as an additional move, while the 5 Star Tera Raids for Sylveon have Tera Blast and Yawn instead of Take Down and Charm.
For counters, Garchomp can be really tricky based on the Tera Type, best counters for the Ground Tera Type are the Rotom forms, specifically Wash Rotom or Mow Rotom with the Water and Grass Tera Types respectively, as Rotom has Levitate, and its Defense allows it to withstand Garchomp's attacks, Brute Bonnet is a notable option against Garchomp, as its Clear Smog can remove Swords Dance boosts, and it can set up Sunny Day to activate Protosynthesis. If you are against a Garchomp with a Rock, Ice, or Fairy Tera Type, Orthworm is a solid option, as its Earth Eater gives it an immunity to Earthquake, and its high Defense stat and resistances to Garchomp's moves makes Orthworm a good choice to use. Other notable options include Gyarados, Corviknight, Bronzong, and a few others based on Garchomp's Tera Type, while for Sylveon, Poison or Steel-type Pokémon are great options against the Fairy Tera Type, options include Revavroom, Scizor, and Clodsire, and as Sylveon knows Tera Blast, if you are against a Grass or Bug Tera Type Sylveon, a good option to use is Ceruledge, as it resists Sylveon's moves and can set up Swords Dance against it.
Time to go over them, starting with Garchomp, its Hidden Ability is Rough Skin, which is a good Ability to have, Garchomp learns a wide variety of moves, like Crunch and Dragon Claw, and for TMs, it can learn Fire Fang, Aerial Ace, Rock Tomb, Brick Break, Shadow Claw, Poison Jab, Rock Slide, Swords Dance, Spikes, Iron Head, Liquidation, Stealth Rock, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Outrage, and Draco Meteor for possible moves. Garchomp's best Tera Type is Ground or Dragon if it needs to give its Earthquake or Dragon Claw extra power, Steel is good for giving it resistances to Ice and Fairy, and with Iron Head, it can use that to take them down, and it is Garchomp's best defensive Tera Type. For Tera Raids, Garchomp's preferred Tera Type is Ground, and it can use Swords Dance to boost its Attack and then get in some massive damage with Earthquake against opponents with a Tera Type weak to Ground.
Sylveon has Pixilate for its Hidden Ability, allowing moves like Hyper Voice to become a Fairy-type move, and it learns moves like Charm, Light Screen, Draining Kiss, Misty Terrain, and Moonblast, and for TMs, it can learn Fake Tears, Magical Leaf, Stored Power, Psyshock, Reflect, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, Hyper Voice, Psychic, Calm Mind, Hyper Beam, and Tera Blast for some notable moves. Fairy Tera Type Sylveon provides it with the extra power from Hyper Voice, and as Sylveon's movepool is quite limited, it gets Shadow Ball and Psyshock for coverage options, a Fire Tera Type with Tera Blast gives it a way to handle Steel-type Pokémon, because Sylveon cannot learn Mystical Fire in this game. Sylveon is one of those Pokémon that usually needs a Tera Type different to its original type as a way to take on Pokémon it wouldn't normally stand a chance against. Fairy is best for Tera Raids, and Sylveon's most notable set is Hyper Voice, Hyper Beam, Fake Tears, and Calm Mind, and sometimes Helping Hand to give its teammates the extra power.
