*Commentary*
Along Route 30 Lactipi encounters two trainers fighting against each other. He looks expectantly at Wall. He shyly turns his head down. A few meters into the route Mr. Pokemon's house sat in a lone field. The boy approached the front door and boldly entered. From the doorway he saw the famous professor Oak as well as a man impeccably dressed sitting in front of a table. The man came up to Lactipi, introducing himself as Mr. Pokemon. He gave the boy a smooth, oblong white sphere, splotched with red and blue triangle around it. The bid his farewell, and prepared to leave. Suddenly Oak ran up to him and took a look at the Chikorita in its ball. He released it ans it clung to Lactipi's leg. Oak smiled and gave the boy a red box. He explained it was a Pokedex, an encyclopedia of sorts. The boy thanked him and left.Right outside of Mr. Pokemon's house he received a call from Elm. Someone had broken into the Lab. Lactipi rushed back to Newbark. However in Cherrygrove he was confronted by a boy dressed in black with shoulder length red hair. He challenged Lactipi to a battle. After a narrow victory the red haired boy ran off toward route 30. But not before taking his trainer card from Lactipi, which had fallen during the battle. Returning to Newbark Lactipi told the police the name of the theif: Ravjiz. Elm astounded by the egg Lactipi returned with gave him permission to continue his journey. Hence the boy found himself looking for Bellsprouts in Route 31.
