I take on the Cerulean Gym Tower, and this one shouldn't be too hard, but there are some moves you have to watch out for. Most of the Trainers in the Cerulean Gym use Water-type Pokémon, the first Trainer you fight has a full team of Water-type Pokémon, and Misty, the Gym Leader, only has Water-type Pokémon, but some of her Pokémon do have moves to counter the types they are weak to.
I do make a good balance of types for the Pokémon that I selected, I chose Ivysaur and Magnemite for my main Pokémon, Jynx and Scyther were picked for some Trainers that have different types, and I chose Haunter because it has Thunderbolt, and it is an alternate option for some of the Trainers.
I will list each of the Trainers, and the nicknames of their Pokémon, with the species name of the Pokémon in brackets.
Battle 1: Fisher
Squirtish (Squirtle): Ice Beam, Seismic Toss, Mega Punch, Submission
Poliwish (Poliwag): Hypnosis, Amnesia, Surf, Psychic
Karpish (Magikarp): Splash, Tackle
Wartorish (Wartortle): Bite, Dig, Surf, Mega Kick
Seakish (Seaking): Waterfall, Peck, Horn Drill, Double-Edge
Coolish (Tentacool): Acid, Poison Sting, Wrap, Hydro Pump

Battle 2: Jr.♀
Pidpidpid (Pidgey): Sand-Attack, Mirror Move, Quick Attack, Fly
Seasea (Seadra): SmokeScreen, Take Down, Leer, BubbleBeam
Kadakada (Kadabra): Kinesis, Disable, Confusion, Rest
Voltvolt (Voltorb): Flash, Explosion, Swift, Screech
Digdig (Diglett): Sand-Attack, Rage, Slash, Earthquake
Jigjig (Jigglypuff): Flash, Psywave, Body Slam, Double-Edge

Battle 3: Swimmer
Meowmer (Meowth): Fury Swipes, Mimic, Pay Day, BubbleBeam
Goldmer (Goldeen): Fury Attack, Supersonic, Horn Attack, Water Gun
Mankmer (Mankey): Fury Swipes, Scratch, Counter, Seismic Toss
Nytemer (Omanyte): Spike Cannon, Reflect, Water Gun, Bide
Fairymer (Clefairy): DoubleSlap, Psywave, Sing, Defense Curl
Polimer (Poliwhirl): DoubleSlap, Rage, Bubble, Hypnosis

Battle 4: Misty
Starmie: Thunder, Thunder Wave, Swift, BubbleBeam
Horsea: SmokeScreen, Ice Beam, Surf, Toxic
Psyduck: Disable, Body Slam, Confusion, Fury Swipes
Blastoise: Hydro Pump, Seismic Toss, Bite, Dig
Staryu: Recover, Psychic, Minimize, Thunderbolt
Seel: Blizzard, Surf, Rest, Take Down

The Trainers shouldn't be too bad, Fisher only has Water-type Pokémon, making him really easy if you select any Grass and Electric-type Pokémon you have. Jr.♀ uses accuracy reducing moves, Swimmer uses multi-hit moves like Fury Swipes, and the Gym Leader can be a challenging opponent. Misty only has Water-type Pokémon, her Horsea has Ice Beam, and Seel has Blizzard, both moves deal super effective damage against Grass-type Pokémon, and Blastoise knows Dig, but you can switch out to a Pokémon that resists it when it uses it, and as most Grass-type Pokémon are part Poison-type, Staryu's Psychic can deal with any of them.
