A new event and some new Pokémon have been announced, the event is the Eevee Festival, where you can take part in the Shivre City Eevee Appeal-o-rama, where you play as Eevee and its evolved forms and you can take part in various tasks, and you can fight against a Gigantamax Eevee.
Two new Pokémon were announced, the first one is Umbreon, which was leaked months ago, and is now in the game, and Leafeon is soon to be included into the game. Umbreon is a Defender, and Leafeon is confirmed to be a Speedster, we get our first Eevee evolutions that are not Attackers.
For its Ability, as an Eevee, it has Anticipation, which negates the effects of shove, throw, or unable to act, and it puts the Ability on cooldown, while Umbreon has Inner Focus, which gives it an immunity to hindrances and boosts its Defense and Special Defense for a short time, including the effects from Eevee's Anticipation.
Umbreon also has Swift as a starting move during the Eevee stage, it will apply a mark to the opposing Pokémon, and Eevee's movement speed is increased for a short time, and its next attack is a boosted attack when it deals damage to marked Pokémon, and its boosted attack restores its HP, and the lower its HP, the more HP it can restore. Its other move is Fake Tears, which decreases the Defense and Special Defense of opposing Pokémon and Eevee gains a shield.
At Level 4, Eevee will evolve into Umbreon, and it learns Mean Look or Foul Play, those replace Swift. Mean Look pins down opposing Pokémon in a black zone, and when Umbreon attacks opposing Pokémon trapped in the black zone, its basic attacks become boosted attacks, and it deals increased damage. Foul Play deals damage and decreases the movement speed of opposing Pokémon, the second attack deals increased damage based on the Attack of the opposing Pokémon hit in the first stage, and it deals more damage the higher the opponent's Attack stat is.
At Level 6, Umbreon learns Wish or Snarl, those replace Fake Tears. Wish is the support based move, the ally Pokémon takes reduced damage, and after a set amount of time, their HP will be restored, and if that ally Pokémon is defeated before the healing takes effect, a different ally Pokémon gains the effect of Wish. Snarl creates an area effect that decreases the Attack, Special Attack, and movement speed of opposing Pokémon, and it gains a shield, and on the final shout, this can leave opposing Pokémon unable to act for a short time, and the Attack and Special Attack decreases can stack.
Umbreon's Unite Move is Moonlight Prance, which it learns at Level 8, Umbreon jumps up into the air and then lands, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect, and any shields the opposing Pokémon have will be absorbed from them and to Umbreon.
At Level 10, Mean Look or Foul Play are upgraded, Mean Look increases the duration of the black zone, and Foul Play makes Umbreon's next basic attack become a boosted attack after using the move. At Level 12, Wish or Snarl are upgraded, Wish reduces the damage ally Pokémon take and increases the amount of HP restores when the effect takes place, and Snarl increases the amount of time opposing Pokémon are left unable to act.
Umbreon's best stats are Endurance and Support, it is a Defender that can put those to use, and we did have two Defenders included lately, those two being Goodra and Lapras, and both did have ways to last longer in battle, and Umbreon is all about taking shields with its Unite Move and depending on the set, supporting allies or weakening the stats of opposing Pokémon with Snarl. For items, it can use Weakness Policy and Focus Band, which work with a Defender, and it can use a Razor Claw to work with Foul Play. It doesn't have the best Endurance compared to other Defenders like Goodra or Trevenant where they can heal during battle, and Wish on Umbreon can make it act as a Support Pokémon, Foul Play and Snarl are its best moves in battle, Snarl can work at weakening the movement speed of opposing Pokémon, and Foul Play can work well against opponents with a high Attack stat.
While it is confirmed that Leafeon is the next Pokémon to be added, and it is a Speedster, it will be a while till it is included into this game.
