I used: Araquanid, Excadrill, and Dragapult
My Opponent used: Aegislash, Mimikyu, and Charizard
Stadium: Ballolea
Battle BGM: Wild Pokémon

I see that my opponent has four Pokémon on the team that have a weakness to Ground, no offense to the person I battled, but that is not even a balanced team, because if you have up to four Pokémon with a shared weakness and you don't have any Pokémon that can cover that weakness, you will have a tough time, and Ground is a very common type, so having a Water or Grass-type could have been more ideal than having two Fire-types and two Electric-types.
Now onto the battle, and I did give Sticky Web to my Araquanid, as this is a very helpful move to have due to it lowering the Speed of foes that switch in. I see that the Pokémon that my opponent picked were Pokémon that got nerfed, with Mimikyu taking damage if its Disguise is busted, and Aegislash got nerfed in this game.
In previous games, Aegislash was one of the most powerful Pokémon in competitive battling due to its Blade Form having very high Attack and Special Attack, while its Shield Form had high Defense and Special Defense, so they got nerfed from 150 to 140, and its signature move King's Shield would decrease Attack by one stage instead of two if you use a move that makes contact against King's Shield. While it did get some nerfs, Aegislash is still a really good Pokémon, as it can be a good mixed attacker with moves like Iron Head and Shadow Ball.
The removal of Mega Evolution has hurt Charizard a bit, as those were what made Charizard really good in Gen 6 and 7, but this time, Charizard has a Gigantamax form, and any Fire-type moves it uses will turn into G-Max Wildfire, which will deal continuous damage for four turns. There is some debate on whether Dynamax or Gigantamax is better on some Pokémon, in Charizard's case, that means it will not be able to use Max Flare in Gigantamax, so this is one of few cases in which Dynamax might be more preferred for Charizard, because the sun from Max Flare is more beneficial than G-Max Wildfire, so once Dynamax wears off, Charizard can make use of Solar Beam, this is to make up for the loss of Mega Charizard Y, where it had Drought, and Solar Beam was a popular move on it.
I do give my Dragapult some action in that battle, and this is a Pokémon with great versatility, Dragapult can be used as either a Physical or Special Attacker, or you can use it mixed, but there are some Dragapult sets that use defensive moves like Light Screen and Reflect, so that is a Pokémon you can do many different things with. It does have a very high Speed stat, and for being the Pseudo-Legendary of Gen 8, Dragapult is one of the best Pokémon in competitive battling thanks to its great offensive potential, as well as being able to learn a wide variety of moves.
