At the start of the video, I show there is a Mystery Gift even that was live in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it might be expired now, but it was live at the time I recorded the video, you can get five Shiny Statues, I don't know if it is the correct term, but there is a star symbol at the end, you get the statues for Pachirisu, Lucario, Rhyperior, Electivire, and Glaceon.
Then I move onto Sword & Shield, and for this week, I chose the Pokémon, and I decided it would be Smoochum, as it is an Ice-type that would fit in well, someday the random list generator will give me Delibird and make me Surprise Trade that Pokémon.
I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, but in a rare case, I have a Jynx with 31 IVs in all 6 stats to guarantee 31 IVs in 5 stats on the Smoochum, and as Smoochum itself cannot breed, it has to be evolved into Jynx in order to breed. I went with Timid for the Nature, as its best stats are Speed and Special Attack, and it only gets three Egg Moves, those being Fake Out, Role Play, and Wish, I will list which parents in the Human-Like Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Fake Out: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, Sableye, Mienfoo, Mienshao, Impidimp, Morgrem, Grimmsnarl
Role Play: Kadabra, Alakazam, Mr. Mime, G-Mr. Mime, Mr. Rime
Wish: Gardevoir

Only three Egg Moves, and as with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Smoochum only got one Egg Move exclusive to those games, and it is Ice Punch, which it already learns as a level up move.
Going over its level up moves, Smoochum learns Lick, Pound, Powder Snow, Copycat, Confusion, Covet, Sing, Fake Tears, Ice Punch, Psychic, Sweet Kiss, Mean Look, Perish Song, and Blizzard. When it is evolved into Jynx at Level 30, it is the only Pokémon to learn Lovely Kiss, but aside from that, not much changes.
Then for TMs and TRs, and this is what Jynx learns in Sword & Shield, and there are some moves Smoochum cannot learn, starting with TMs, it can learn Light Screen, Reflect, Thief, Icy Wind, Charm, Rain Dance, Hail, Icicle Spear, Brick Break, Drain Punch, Avalanche, Psycho Cut, Trick Room, Wonder Room, Magic Room, Draining Kiss, and Psychic Terrain, not the best TM selection as Jynx doesn't have a good Attack stat to make use of those moves. For TRs, it can learn Ice Beam, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Future Sight, Taunt, Hyper Voice, Calm Mind, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, Nasty Plot, Grass Knot, Stored Power, Zen Headbutt, and Ally Switch, and for Tutor moves, it can learn Expanding Force and Triple Axel. As for Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the moves Jynx can learn which it cannot in Sword & Shield are Focus Punch, Water Pulse, Double Team, Torment, Psych Up, and Dream Eater.
Jynx was considered to be one of the most overpowered Pokémon back in Gen 1, its type combo of Ice/Psychic was broken, because Blizzard had a 30% chance of freezing the target, and if you ever got frozen, that was it, the Pokémon cannot defrost from the ice in Gen 1, and Psychic was an overpowered type, and Jynx's access to Lovely Kiss was what made it that good, but for Pokémon of that type, Articuno and Alakazam were the better Pokémon for those two types.
In this game, Jynx has a difficult time, it has a weak Defense of 35, so even a Bullet Punch from Scizor or Metagross can take out Jynx in one hit, the best it can do is use Lovely Kiss to put its target to sleep, set up with Nasty Plot, and attempt to sweet with moves like Ice Beam and Psychic, it does get some nice coverage moves like Energy Ball and Focus Blast. I went with Hydration on the Smoochum, because that turns into Dry Skin when it evolves into Jynx, giving it an immunity to Water-type moves and allowing it to heal in the rain.
In Double Battles, Jynx has access to Fake Out, and there isn't much to go over, in the current format, Jynx is placed 143 in the usage charts, and all of its teammates are Ice-type Pokémon, so I guess it must be players using a Mono-Ice team.
As for Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, despite there being less options, Jynx has a difficult time being used as its low Defense is a drawback, and while access to Lovely Kiss is nice, it faces competition with Alakazam as a Psychic-type, and with Weavile and Mamoswine as an Ice-type.
I still find it strange how Jynx didn't even get an evolution in Gen 4, because if you recall, Jynx was part of a trio along with Electabuzz and Magmar, and all three got pre-evolved forms in Gen 2, and in Gen 4, Jynx was the only one out of the trio that never got an evolution, while both Magmar and Electabuzz did get evolved forms.
