This week, I will be trading Trapinch through Surprise Trade. I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and the unusual thing about Trapinch is that it has two Abilities, Hyper Cutter and Arena Trap, and it has a Hidden Ability in Sheer Force, when it evolves, it has Levitate for its only Ability, so I didn't see any point in breeding any Trapinch with the Hidden Ability if it doesn't even keep it.
I went with Jolly for the Nature, while Trapinch has base 10 Speed, and Trapinch has base 100 Attack, it loses 30 points of Attack when it evolves into Vibrava, and it regains that Attack stat when fully evolved into Flygon, this means Trapinch has the same base Attack stat as its final evolved form, it can work with Adamant as well. For Egg Moves, I went with First Impression, Bug Bite, Quick Attack, and Flail, it can also get Gust and Feint for other Egg Moves, I will list which parents in the Bug and Dragon Egg Groups that can learn those moves.
Bug Bite: Caterpie, Butterfree, Pinsir, Shuckle, Ninjask, Combee, Skorupi, Drapion, Venipede, Whirlipede, Scolipede, Dwebble, Crustle, Joltik, Galvantula, Durant, Larvesta, Volcarona, Grubbin, Charjabug, Vikavolt, Dewpider, Araquanid, Golisopod, Sizzlipede, Centiskorch
Feint: Flygon, Goodra
First Impression: Golisopod
Flail: Magikarp, Gyarados, Feebas, Milotic, Dwebble, Crustle, Karrablast, Escavalier, Goomy, Sliggoo, Goodra, Turtonator
Gust: Butterfree, Combee, Volcarona, Noibat, Noivern
Quick Attack: Scyther, Scizor, Treecko, Grovyle, Sceptile, Accelgor, Helioptile, Heliolisk, Dreepy, Drakloak, Dragapult

It is good that Trapinch can get moves like First Impression and Quick Attack as Egg Moves, and as with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Trapinch does not learn First Impression, and it can get Focus Energy, Mud Shot, and Earth Power, Mud Shot can only be taught to Trapinch through Chain Breeding, it already learns Earth Power, so I would say Focus Energy instead of First Impression when breeding Trapinch in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.
Going over its level up moves, Trapinch learns Sand Attack, Astonish, Laser Focus, Bite, Mud-Slap, Sand Tomb, Bulldoze, Dig, Crunch, Sandstorm, Earth Power, Earthquake, Superpower, and Fissure. Trapinch has a rough time, because it isn't until Level 35 that it evolves into Vibrava, and it loses 30 points of Attack when it evolves, it learns Dragon Breath upon evolution, and for moves it can learn in the Vibrava stage, it can get Supersonic, Dragon Tail, Screech, Bug Buzz, Uproar, Dragon Rush, and Boomburst. It evolves into Flygon at Level 45 and it learns Dragon Claw when it evolves, and it can learn Dragon Dance and Feint.
Next is TMs and TRs, I will be going over what Flygon can learn, it can get Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Fly, Solar Beam, Fire Spin, Rock Slide, Giga Drain, Steel Wing, Rock Tomb, Mud Shot, U-turn, Air Slash, Brutal Swing, and Breaking Swipe, and for TRs, it can learn Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Outrage, Iron Tail, Crunch, Heat Wave, Dragon Pulse, Stone Edge, and Throat Chop, and for Tutor moves, it can learn Draco Meteor, Scorching Sands, Scale Shot, and Dual Wingbeat. In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it can learn Aerial Ace, Roost, and Defog.
Flygon has had an interesting competitive history, it is overshadowed by Garchomp, as both are Ground/Dragon-type Pokémon, and the last time Flygon has ever had competitive success was in Gen 4 back when Dragon was an overpowered type, and both Garchomp and Salamence were banned to Ubers, but then again there was Dragonite to compete with, but at least it is used more than Altaria.
Flygon can use Dragon Dance to boost its Attack and Speed, and it can deal some good damage with Earthquake and Outrage, for its 4th move, it can use many different moves, like Superpower, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, whichever it wants, it can use Scale Shot to boost its Speed, U-turn is an option to switch out. In Double Battles, Flygon can use Rock Slide and Breaking Swipe to hit both targets, it does not learn a single target Physical Ground-type move like Stomping Tantrum or High Horsepower. Dragon Claw its its Dragon-type move of choice in Double Battles as a single target option.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, which has less Pokémon in the Pokédex, Flygon still faces competition with Garchomp, but it is one of few Dragon-type Pokémon in the game, and it can use Roost and Defog, which are moves it can't get in Sword & Shield unless you transfer over a Flygon with those moves in the previous games, a Flygon transferred from Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will not keep Roost or Defog if moved into Sword & Shield, it can relearn Outrage to give it a good Dragon-type move for Single Battles.
