There is something special about this week's Surprise Trade, and while I will be trading Vulpix, the reason this is a longer video is that I will probably be trading both Kantonian and Alolan Vulpix, so this is one of these rare cases of Pokémon.
As usual, I breed for at least 4-5 perfect IVs (Individual Values), and some Egg Moves, and I went for a Timid Nature for Vulpix, as it is the best Nature to go for on them.
For Vulpix's Egg Moves, I will list which ones can be learned by both forms, Hypnosis, Flail, Howl, Roar, and Baby-Doll Eyes, while the Kantonian Vulpix can get Memento and Flame Charge, and Alolan Vulpix can get Freeze-Dry and Moonblast.
The Kantonain Vulpix have Flame Charge, Hypnosis, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Memento, and the Alolan Vulpix have Freeze-Dry, Moonblast, Roar, and Hypnosis. I will list which parents from the Field Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Baby-Doll Eyes: Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Zigzagoon, G-Zigzagoon, Linoone, G-Linoone, Leafeon, Glaceon, Minccino, Cinccino, Sylveon, Stufful, Bewear, Obstagoon
Flail: Swinub, Piloswine, Zigzagoon, Linoone, Mamoswine, Cubchoo, Beartic, Bunnelby, Diggersby, Stufful, Bewear
Flame Charge: Ponyta, Rapidash, Scorbunny, Raboot, Cinderace
Freeze-Dry: Glaceon, Eiscue
Howl: Growlithe, Arcanine, Electrike, Manectric
Hypnosis: Munna, Musharna
Memento: Stunky, Skuntank
Moonblast: Munna, Musharna, Sylveon, Popplio, Brionne, Primarina
Roar: Growlithe, Arcanine, Electrike, Manectric, Hippopotas, Hippowdon, Litten, Torracat, Incineroar, Yamper, Boltund

Those are some good Egg Moves that Vulpix can get, Freeze-Dry and Moonblast are notable options on the Alolan Vulpix, and Hypnosis is a good option on both.
Both require evolution stones to evolve into Ninetales, Kantonian Vulpix requires a Fire Stone, and Alolan Vulpix needs an Ice Stone. They do have their Hidden Ability, the Fire-type Ninetales has Drought, and the Ice/Fairy-type Alolan Ninetales has Snow Warning, and they are good Abilities to have on them, because there is no reason to have Flash Fire on a Vulpix or Ninetales.
Starting with the Kantonain Vulpix, it can get Ember, Incinerate, Will-O-Wisp, Flamethrower, Fire Spin, Inferno, and Fire Blast, and Alolan Vulpix learns Powder Snow, Icy Wind, Aurora Beam, Ice Beam, Aurora Veil, Sheer Cold, and Blizzard, and both forms learn Confuse Ray, Disable, Spite, and Grudge, and when evolved into Ninetales, both forms get Nasty Plot.
For TM and TR moves, both forms learn Swift, Weather Ball, Fake Tears, and Hex for TMs, and for TR moves, both forms get Psyshock, Agility, Encore, Calm Mind, Dark Pulse, Foul Play, and Stored Power. For each form, Kantonain Ninetales can get Solar Beam, Mystical Fire, Overheat, Shadow Ball, Heat Wave, Flare Blitz, and Energy Ball, and Alolan Ninetales can get Charm, Wonder Room, Draining Kiss, Misty Terrain, and Dazzling Gleam.
We will start with Single Battles, and as a Drought user, Ninetales is outclassed by Torkoal, but the one advantage the Kantonian Ninetales has is its higher Speed stat. Ninetales can use Nasty Plot to boost its Special Attack so it can get in some damage with Fire Blast and Solar Beam, Flamethrower is an alternative over Fire Blast for more Accuracy. Extrasensory and Shadow Ball are notable coverage options, and Encore can work against slower Pokémon.
Alolan Ninetales has Snow Warning, and one move to have on it is Aurora Veil, and it can use moves like Blizzard and Moonblast for power, Calm Mind is a good move to have for the Special stat boosts, downside is its Steel weakness, but the only Steel-type that we currently have that learns Bullet Punch is Lucario. Both forms of Ninetales are good on weather teams.
In Double Battles, both forms of Ninetales are good at setting up weather, Kantonian Ninetales is outclassed by Torkoal, and Alolan Ninetales faces competition with Vanilluxe. Heat Wave and Solar Beam are your wanted moves for Ninetales in Double Battles, while Hypnosis and Fake Tears are decent status moves to have on it. For the Alolan Ninetales, Blizzard and Aurora Veil are important moves for it, Freeze-Dry is an option for Water-type Pokémon, and a choice of Moonblast for a single target move, or Dazzling Gleam to hit both targets. Alolan Ninetales does get Icy Wind, which is a nice move in Double Battles, so it has some good move options for Double Battles.
While Ninetales isn't one of the best Pokémon in terms of battle, having access to Drought or Snow Warning depending on the form does make it a decent Pokémon to use in battle, and it can provide support to teams that benefit from sun or hail, so at least it does have something to help it in battle.
