It is time to Surprise Trade a Pokémon introduced in Generation 1, this week I will be trading Koffing, one of the original Poison-type Pokémon that was used by Team Rocket back in the days of Pokémon Red & Blue, but in this game, its evolved form Weezing has a regional variant, I will go more into detail when I go over their moves.
I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Calm for the Nature, either Bold or Calm work, as Koffing and its evolved form Weezing have Defense as their best stat, and a Calm Nature and some Special Defense investment can help Weezing in taking hits better on the Special side, some them have either Levitate or Neutralizing Gas, I didn't bother with its Hidden Ability of Stench, that turns into Misty Surge when it evolves into Galarian Weezing.
Koffing learns a good selection of Egg Moves, the ones I went with are Pain Split, Spite, Curse, and Stockpile, those are nices moves for a defensive Pokémon, it can also get Psybeam, Grudge, Swallow, and Spit Up, I will list which parents in the Amorphous Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Curse: Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Duskull, Dusclops, Spiritomb, Dusknoir, Yamask, G-Yamask, Cofagrigus, Litwick, Lampent, Chandelure, Phantump, Trevenant, Runerigus, Pincurchin
Grudge: Yamask, Cofagrigus
Pain Split: Solosis, Duosion, Reuniclus, Litwick, Lampent, Chandelure, Pumpkaboo, Gourgeist, Mimikyu
Psybeam: Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Gallade, Solosis, Duosion, Reuniclus
Spit Up: Drifloon, Drifblim
Spite: Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Spiritomb
Stockpile: Drifloon, Drifblim
Swallow: Drifloon, Drifblim

I didn't see any reason to go with Swallow or Spit Up, as Stockpile is good enough for a defensive Pokémon, Pain Split and Curse are noteworthy moves, and I did consider Psybeam, but went with Spite as not many Pokémon in Koffing's Egg Group can learn that move.
Then to go over level up moves, Koffing can get Poison Gas, Tackle, Smog, Smokescreen, Clear Smog, Assurance, Sludge, Haze, Self-Destruct, Sludge Bomb, Toxic, Belch, Explosion, Memento, and Destiny Bond. It evolves into Galarian Weezing at Level 35, and there is no point to go over Kantonian Weezing, as they cannot be evolved from Koffing in this game, Galarian Weezing is the only Pokémon to learn Strange Steam, it is a 90 Power Special Fairy-type move that has a chance of confusing the target, and it does get other moves like Double Hit, Heat Wave, Defog, and Misty Terrain.
Then to go over Galarian Weezing's TM and TR moves, as there are some that Koffing cannot learn, it can get Screech, Thief, Will-O-Wisp, Payback, Wonder Room, Venoshock, and Brutal Swing, and for TRs, it can learn Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, Thunder, Shadow Ball, Overheat, Gyro Ball, Toxic Spikes, Dark Pulse, Sludge Wave, Play Rough, Venom Drench, and Dazzling Gleam, and it learns Corrosive Gas and Misty Explosion for Tutor moves.
Weezing technically has a higher Attack stat than Special Attack, but the downside is it cannot learn a Physical Poison-type move, not even Gunk Shot, despite similar Pokémon like it, including Muk, Swalot, and Garbodor being able to learn it. In battle, Weezing is a defensive Pokémon on the Physical side, and it can use moves like Strange Steam, Toxic, Taunt, and Will-O-Wisp for possible moves, Flamethrower provides coverage against Steel-type Pokémon, and Clear Smog can be used to remove the opponent's stat buffs, specially after the opponent has Dynamaxed and received stat buffs from Max Moves.
Weezing isn't as commonly used in Single Battles, but it has gained popularity in Double Battles, both Kantonian and Galarian Weezing have seen use, because Weezing has Neutralizing Gas, and one Pokémon that hugely benefits from having Weezing as a teammate is Regigigas, this is because Neutralizing Gas prevents Abilities from activating when Weezing is on the field, and Regigigas can sweep without beind held back by Slow Start, I could only wonder how overpowered Slaking will be if ever it returns in a future game. Galarian Weezing can use moves like Sludge Bomb, Will-O-Wisp, and Strange Steam, and it can use Haze to remove all stat modifications of every Pokémon on the field, Kantonian Weezing is used almost similarly, except it doesn't get Strange Steam, it can use Taunt and Heat Wave for some good moves in a Double Battle.
Weezing has been a Pokémon that has remained a defensive wall through the games, and while Poison-type Pokémon are walled by Steel-type Pokémon, Weezing had access to Flamethrower to deal with them, but then in Gen 4, the popularity of Heatran has affected Weezing's usability, but now Weezing has gained popularity in Gen 8 Double Battles because of its Neutralizing Gas and one of its best teammates is Regigigas, allowing it sweep the team while Weezing is on the field.
