It is time for this week's Surprise Trade, it will be Swirlix, a Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in Gen 6, and a version exclusive Pokémon, Swirlix can only be obtained in Pokémon Sword, so it can be good for Shield players.
As usual, I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Timid for the Nature, and the Swirlix have Unburden, which is the Ability you want when using it. I didn't want to go out of my way to give each Swirlix a Whipped Dream, because that costs Battle Points to even get that many, and as for Egg Moves, Swirlix can get After You, Yawn, Sticky Web, and Copycat, I will list which parents in the Fairy Egg Group that can learn those moves.
After You: Clefairy, Clefable, Togetic, Audino, Indeedee (Male)
Copycat: Clefairy, Clefable, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff
Sticky Web: Slurpuff
Yawn: Togetic, Togekiss

The Fairy Egg Group is one tricky Egg Group to get certain Egg Moves from, and I wasn't sure about Sticky Web if Slurpuff can learn it anyway, and interesting trivia, Swirlix used to get Belly Drum as an Egg Move, but the only Pokémon that could learn Belly Drum in Swirlix's Egg Group was the Marill line, which was not in the base game for Sword & Shield, so Swirlix could not learn Belly Drum in this game.
Next thing to go over is Swirlix's level up moves, it can get Tackle, Sweet Scent, Play Nice, Fairy Wind, Aromatherapy, Draining Kiss, Fake Tears, Round, String Shot, Cotton Spore, Energy Ball, Wish, Play Rough, Cotton Guard, and Endeavor, and its evolved form Slurpuff learns Sticky Web, which you can then breed onto Swirlix.
Then for TM and TR moves, I will mainly be going over Slurpuff's moves, as there are some Swirlix cannot learn, for TMs, it can get Thief, Light Screen, Safeguard, Charm, Drain Punch, Facade, and Round, and for TRs, it can get Flamethrower, Surf, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Amnesia, Calm Mind, Energy Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and a few others, and it learns Misty Explosion for its Tutor move.
The main reason to use Slurpuff is its Ability of Unburden, it can hold a Petaya Berry and use Substitute to get its HP low enough, and for moves, Dazzling Gleam, Flamethrower, and Thunderbolgt are good moves to have, Psychic, Surf, and Energy Ball are alternatives, Draining Kiss is there to heal up some damage. Slurpuff can even make use of the Focus Sash and Endeavor combo, but it does not learn any priority moves to go well with that. It can even use Sticky Web to set up, and Misty Explosion to get in some huge damage before fainting, Slurpuff does have very well rounded stats for a Fairy-type, but in the competitive scene, those stats are kind of average, as it is outclassed by better options.
In Double Battles, Slurpuff can pair up with a Pokémon that can set up terrain, like Indeedee, Rillaboom, or Tapu Koko, while Slurpuff holds the seed that boosts a Defense stat while terrain is active, it can use String Shot or Cotton Spore to lower the Speed of opposing Pokémon, String Shot is usually preferred, as Cotton Spore does not work against Grass-type Pokémon. Slurpuff can use After You to good effect if it has a slower teammate, and Fake Tears is there to lower the opponent's Special Defense, so it can make a great partner for Indeedee, as Fake Tears pairs well with Indeedee's Expanding Force. Slurpuff can do some good damage to opponents with Dazzling Gleam and Flamethrower, but as far as Pokémon with Unburden go, Slurpuff is outclassed by Drifblim as a Pokémon with Unburden, as Drifblim has a much higher HP stat than Slurpuff.
Even though the Swirlix line is quite underrated, I am not sure if it is because it gets the same treatment as the Vanillite line in Gen 5, while they were disliked on, I did like the Vanillite line. As with Swirlix, it is quite a cute Pokémon, and Slurpuff does have a nice design, and it has very well rounded stats, and its access to Unburden is what makes it usable, the removal of its access to Belly Drum is kind of a drawback, because back in Gen 6, Slurpuff's most notable set was Belly Drum while holding a Sitrus Berry, but its Physical movepool was quite limited, it had Play Rough and Return, and that was about it, until it got access to Drain Punch in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire through Move Tutor. It can make decent work of Cotton Guard or Calm Mind so it has extra Defense or Special Defense based on the set, Calm Mind is better when going with Special moves.
