Here is our next Wild Area Event, and this one is themed around Skwovet and a bunch of other Pokémon, this event will be from November 20th till November 22nd, and you can earn some Berries from the Event Max Raid Battles.
For this event, we get Skwovet as expected, its evolved form Greedent appears during the event, and some Grass-type Pokémon, like Amoonguss, Shiinotic, and Cherubi, and there is a rare chance of finding a guaranteed Shiny Skwovet.
By the way, the Shiny Yveltal that I have on my team was obtained through Dynamax Adventures, and I am not opposed to using Legendary Pokémon, or more specifically, an Uber Legendary, in Max Raid Battles, but I won't use Yveltal in my online battles, as I prefer not to use Legendary Pokémon for online battles, but I might make exceptions with lower tier Legendary Pokémon. Even though I decide to do Max Raid Battles in the Crown Tundra, I might go back to the Isle of Armor or the Galar Wild Area in some later events.
You can earn rarer Berries, while you have a good chance of getting Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, and Tamato Berries, you can get Micle, Rowap, Jaboca, and Custap Berries, and here are their effects. Custap Berry allows your Pokémon to move first if low on HP, so this is good on some slower Pokémon. Micle Berry boosts Accuracy if low on HP, Jaboca Berry causes the opponent to take damage if the holder is hit by a Physical Attack, and Rowap Berry activates if the holder is hit by a Special Attack, the opponent will take damage.
Then I can go over the Pokémon encountered, the main Pokémon is Skwovet, and there is a rarer chance of finding a Shiny Skwovet in the Max Raid Battles, and you can encounter its evolved form Greedent during the event. Skwovet's Hidden Ability is Gluttony, and while its evolved form Greedent is similar to Snorlax in terms of stats, being a slow Normal-type with high HP, Greedent can take hits quite well, although it is outclassed by Snorlax. The Skwovet line are the only Pokémon to learn Stuff Cheeks, this move boosts their Defense and consuming their held Berry, and it pairs well with Cheek Pouch, so if you have Greedent with a Liechi Berry and you use Stuff Cheeks, and then Cheek Pouch activates, Greedent can gain a boost in Attack and restore some HP. Alternatively, Greedent can use Belly Drum, and held item would be a Sitrus Berry, so Greedent can restore to full HP after using Belly Drum, and that set can be devastating in Trick Room with moves like Body Slam, Earthquake, and Gyro Ball. Gluttony on Greedent can pair well with Belly Drum as well, but instead of a Sitrus Berry, it can use a Ganlon or Apicot Berry to boost its Defense or Special Defense, or it could use a Figy Berry to restore HP. Greedent is a Pokémon that is reliant on Berries to make use of its Ability in battle.
Next is Cherubi, it has no Hidden Ability, the reason is because its evolved form Cherrim has Flower Gift, which is its signature Ability, and that Ability allows Cherrim to change to its Sunshine Form when Sunny Day is active. Flower Gift boosts Cherrim's Attack and Special Defense when Sunny Day is active, and it works on its teammates in Double Battles, but aside from that, Cherrim is kind of an average Grass-type, but in Double Battles it is more of a support Pokémon with moves like Helping Hand and Sunny Day. Cherrim can be partnered with Ninetales or Torkoal, which have Drought, to put it to full effect, but other than that, it is outclassed by way better Grass-type Pokémon.
Then for Amoonguss, its Hidden Ability is Regenerator, and Amoonguss has been a top-tier Pokémon in VGC Tournaments because of its great bulk and access to Rage Powder. It is also one of few Pokémon to learn Spore, and it can use Giga Drain, Clear Smog, and Pollen Puff for other moves as well. Amoonguss was really popular on certain teams back in Gen 6 VGC Tournaments, along with Heatran, Cresselia, Landorus Therian Forme, and Mega Kangaskhan.
The last one out of the Grass-types is Shiinotic, a Grass/Fairy-type with good Special Defense, but below average HP and very slow. While it is outclassed by Amoonguss as a Spore user, what makes Shiinotic different is its access to Strength Sap, it was Shiinotic's signature move in Pokémon Sun & Moon. Shiinotic can get access to Giga Drain and Moonblast for attacking, and Effect Spore is the best Ability to go with. Shiinotic's Hidden Ability is Rain Dish, and while it is nice in rain teams, it isn't commonly used in them. I have seen Shiinotic be a popular teammate for Meowstic, because the male Meowstic has Prankster, and it can use Skill Swap to give it to Shiinotic so it has priority with Spore and Strength Sap. It can even be a decent Trick Room Pokémon, while it isn't as commonly used than Amoonguss, Shiinotic does have some good tricks in battle.
