I start the gym challenge right away (0:35), which is just battling trainers in Spikemuth. I finally make it to the end, and challenge the gym leader, Piers (11:08). It’s a pretty easy battle thanks to me giving Cinderace some X battle items and mainly sticking to Double Kick and Pyro Ball. I get the Dark Badge, which lets me catch Pokémon up to level 55, then head back to Route 9, which is on the way to Hammerlocke.

After going through a bit of the story, I quickly head back to Motostoke to stock up on some X battle items before taking on the Hammerlocke gym (32:22). The challenge this time is taking on gym trainers who specialize in a weather team in double battles. After defeating them, I finally take on the gym leader, Raihan (41:43), who is definitely the hardest due to him being a dragon user. I manage to luck out by making Raihan’s Duraludon exhaust its gigantamax form before taking it out with my dynamax Drednaw. With that, I get the final badge, the Dragon Badge, which allows me to capture any level Pokémon. I leave the gym, where Sonia finally gets promoted to Professor, stock up on battle items at Motostoke again, then save at Hammerlocke, just before the final stretch of the game.
