Pokémon Sword Playthrough – Part 16 (Final)
Here is the final part, which will cover the postgame. I first head over to Hop’s house and find out that Leon left a Charmander that can Gigantamax for me (1:08). Afterward, I spend a bit of time exploring Galar, eventually getting a Type: Null at the Battle Tower (13:49). Afterward, I head back to Slumbering Weald to continue on with the postgame (15:15).
I reach the altar where the Rusted Sword and Shield were, then battle Hop once again (17:41). Luckily, the levels of his Pokémon don’t seem to be too high, so it’s a pretty easy battle. Afterward, we return the Rusted Sword and Shield to their resting place, but two odd looking fellows, Sordward and Shielbert, steal the relics. I battle Sordward for the relic (29:15), and easily win, even with a weakened team to get, but they get away with the Rusted Sword and Shield. After going to Sonia’s lab, we find out that Power Spots are surging across Galar, so we have to go back to every gym to stop the dynamaxed wild Pokémon from wreaking havoc. Along the way, we find out that Sordward and Shielbert are the ones behind these surges, and after the first three gyms are taken care of, we battle them once again (57:03). However, their companion manages to steal the Wishing Stars from the lab, and we have to take care of the Power Spot surges at the remaining gyms. These raid battles are a bit tougher since you are on your own, so you have to make sure you have the proper matchup for each gym. At the Fairy Gym, however, it seems Bede has everything under control, so instead of a Raid Battle, we face him in a friendly one instead.
After that battle, I head back to Hammerlocke and head into the Power Plant, where I have a rematch with Sordward (1:33:51). After beating him, I head up to the roof to find Shielbert being attacked by an enraged Zamazenta, so we have to face it to calm it down. Due to it being Level 70, I have to rely on the X battle items to buff up Corviknight before taking it down. Then, just as it is about to attack Hop, Zacien stops by to save him, which sends Zamazenta off running. I then get an opportunity to battle and catch Zacien. Unfortunately, due to it being level 70 along with it getting boosts to its attack stats, Zacien starts to sweep my team, so I have to use a Master Ball to catch it (1:50:25). With that over with, Sordward and Shielbert realize the error of their ways, and we head back to the altar in Slumbering Weald, where we see Hop managing to catch Zamazenta (1:54:01), then we have one final battle where it all began. Hop’s Pokémon are scaled pretty high once again (due to you catching a level 70 Zacien), so I give Cinderace as much X battle items as possible before sweeping his team. After the battle, Hop decides to become a Pokémon Professor, and Sordward and Shielbert stop by to properly apologize for what they did. With that, is the end of the postgame. I stop by Sonia’s lab (2:09:04) to see how Sonia and Hop are doing before heading over to the Battle Tower and doing one final save.
