Pokémon Day has happened, and the newest Pokémon included is Miraidon, which unfortunately got leaked about a month before release, but it's here now. They announced that Falinks, which was leaked months ago, is the next Pokémon coming, after that is Ceruledge. During that time, Shiny Rayquaza will be appearing in Theia Sky Ruins for a limited time.
Miraidon is an EX Pokémon, much like Mewtwo and Zacian where one team can only have one EX Pokémon per team, likely due to how overpowered EX Pokémon are. This Pokémon is an Attacker that uses long-ranged attacks, its Ability is Hadron Engine, it creates Electric Terrain when it hits a Pokémon with an attack, but it does consume Aeos Energy, and when Miraidon or its allies are in Electric Terrain, they cannot be put to sleep, which is helpful against Pokémon like Snorlax or Wigglytuff, and their attacks deal additional damage, the Electric Terrain strengthens ally goals and weakens opposing team goals.
Miraidon's basic attack is a ranged move that deals damage, and its starting moves are Thunder Shock and Thunder Wave, both of which are ranged moves that deal damage, Thunder Shock deals more damage, and Thunder Wave paralyzes opposing Pokémon.
At Level 5, Miraidon will learn Charge Beam or Electro Drift, those replace Thunder Shock. Charge Beam is an electric beam attack that increases Miraidon's Special Attack when it hits an opposing Pokémon and store electric power, and Miraidon can keep up to two uses in reserve. If Miraidon uses Charge Beam twice, it can use a boosted version where it continuously fires an electric beam to deal damage to opposing Pokémon. Electro Drift is a dash attack that deals damage to anyone in Miraidon's path, and it can store electric power, and when used twice, it uses a powered up version of Electro Drift where it uses a spinning attack aimed at the designated Pokémon, and it deals increases damage if the opposing Pokémon's HP is low, and up to two uses can be kept in reserve.
At Level 7, Miraidon learns Thunder or Parabolic Charge, those replace Thunder Wave. Thunder has Miraidon summon a thundercloud that moves towards the nearest opposing Pokémon, dropping thunderbolts whenever a set amount of time passes, and they apply a slowing effect to the opposing Pokémon they hit. Parabolic Charge has an area effect where it deals damage and slows down opposing Pokémon hit by it, and Miraidon can restore HP and recover 1 stored use of either Charge Beam or Electro Drift, and Miraidon recovers more HP the more opposing Pokémon hit by the move.
Miraidon's Unite Move is Bright Future Meteor Storm, which is learned at Level 9, it calls down five meteorites in a row, dealing damage to any opposing Pokémon hit by them, and if an opposing Pokémon is hit by a meteorite, the next one deals increased damage, the final meteorite has a wider area effect and throws opposing Pokémon.
At Level 11, Charge Beam or Electro Drift are upgraded, Charge Beam increases the maximum amount of uses that can be kept in reserve to 3, and Electro Drift decreases the time it takes to store a use for the move. At Level 13, Thunder or Parabolic Charge are upgraded, Thunder has a strengthened slowing effect on the opposing Pokémon, and Parabolic Charge grants a shield when the move is used.
Miraidon's playstyle is all about weakening enemy team goals, but it does come at the cost of some Aeos Energy, and as it is an Attacker, it doesn't have the best endurance, making it more of a ranged fighter. It can deal massive damage with Charge Beam, but if you go with Electro Drift, Miraidon can work as a Speedster as this does give it some good mobility. Its best items are those that work with its Special Attack, those include Slick Spoon, Choice Specs, and Wise Glasses, and for best moves for it, Charge Beam and Thunder work best for Miraidon as an Attacker, as that makes it best used at long distances, while Parabolic Charge is best paired with Electro Drift to make Miraidon work as a Speedster. At least we get an Attacker, after how many All-Rounders we have been getting in this game, and with the next Pokémon confirmed, Falinks will most likely be an All-Rounder, even if it was leaked months ago, and even Bulbapedia lists Pokémon that have been leaked and haven't even been announced yet, they even listed Blaziken back when it was first leaked, as it wasn't even announced till months later.
