Pokken Tournament - Random Online Battles 3
Back again for more fighting Pokemon! Let's finish up the other matches from my last session, hmm?
Match 1:Charizard (Me) vs. Gardevoir (Dibs)
Old Ferrum Town
Despite Dib's win record, he seemed to know his way around Gardevoir pretty well! This is our first time seeing her (in MY videos, anyway!) so let's talk about her. Gardevoir is Technical, and has a TON of moves at her disposal. Her Forward Special Attack, Stored Power, can be amplified by using Calm Mind, her Back Special, for one, AND you can cancel out of Calm Mind into several different Special Moves, so you have to be on guard! As you can see here, she's focused on ranged play.
I try to go for Seismic Toss a bit too much here, and unlike in our last video, I seemingly forget how to competently use Charizard. Use it and lose it!
Match 2: Weavile (Me) vs. Pikachu Libre (NCSaeko)
Phos Volcano
Weavile's turn to shine! It's got speed on its side, but can it whoo the crowd like PIkachu Libre?! Mixing Ice and Dark attacks into its flurry of slashes and hopping around, you'll notice Weavile's Burst Gauge fills far faster than about anyone else on the cast, which can lead to quick curbstompings if you're lucky. However, it ALSO runs out very fast, and compared to most Synergy Bursts, it's not as huge of a change as, say, Gengar. What I'm saying is that playing with Weavile is full of high-risk, high-reward! Always on the edge of your seat!
Match 3: Shadow Mewtwo (Me) vs. Pikachu Libre (NCSaeko)
Tellur Town (Autumn)
Augh! Again with the wrestling Pikachus! If Weavile is risk-reward, than Shadow Mewtwo is that timed 1000! The smallest combo from opponents can turn life-threatening and if you keep whiffing attacks...you'll hurt for it!
In addition to seeing me CHOKE, let's highlight other things I don't talk about much: supports. In particular, Quagsire. It's a pretty good support all around, I think. This match demonstrates how helpful it can be when applying pressure.
Match 4: Garchomp (Me) vs. Chandelure (kiddmewtwo)
Old Ferrum Town
....I'm bad at Pokken sometimes, you know?
In retrospect...Dig would have REALLY helped out here, but I still feel awkward using Garchomp. Clearly I need to use it more...but even so, against Chandelure it seems like a tough match. Gotta love the CHOKE in the second match too...
Match 5: Gengar (Me) vs. Garchomp (Toast)
Regi Ruins
I think this is the first time this stage has come up. Pretty neat stage, really. And now I'm forced to fight Garchomp after having just sucked with him!
This was honestly really a great match, and Toast here knew the ins and outs of Garchomp more than I know , that's for sure! Really a match that comes down to the last moments! If just one other move had been moved, well...the outcome would have been totally flipped!
OK, that's enough Pokken for now. Looking to get some more game time in with a friend if it can be arranged...otherwise, look forward to some more Mega Man X soon!
