Picking right up where we left off, we defeat the badger gang and reclaim Mythia's ring. And yeah, originally this boss is a bit of a nightmare if you get it due to the insane damage output. Here though, you can play way more fast and loose a bit and take only minimal damage. The same applies with the mad bomber boss, originally the damage you take from him is insanely higher, but now only a little damage for minor mistakes vs tons of damage.

Anyway, upon returning the ring to Mythia we claim one of the rarest items in the game, an elixyr. These things act as revive items, or instant extra life. Which for the longest point upon completing this side quest you'll only have two for a majority of the game. And you want to preserve these things as much as possible. So use healing items when your health gets low. Anyway, after beating the thrasher and the wood golem, we finally encounter Muttonhead and, it's hard to say if he's just a bumbling dolt or a real menace.

At any rate, saving Tatto from his cell, we finish "Zone 1" as it were, and head onto "Zone 2". It's quick to turn out that apparently Muttonhead is answering to some higher power, but as we try and find him, we encounter Slick and deal with a heck of a complication. Ill usage of bombs, hurray!

This Wind Cave section requires a lot of back and forth which is a "smidge" tedious, but once it's over it's over. But it's pretty clear that Slick is wearing quite rapidly on Mail's nerves.

But yeah, if it ain't obvious, for the time this game has quite some stellar voice acting for the era given how swell a majority of the performances are. One other observation, a lot of the music for the actual anime cutscenes is vastly different from the Japanese which gives it a different tone and feel overall. Also, can you believe Slick's VA was a famous singers a lot of girls fawned over? My sister wanted to play a joke on them so bad but that will have to wait till later.
