hey guys, here's my newest song! this is my most recent music i made, as i finished it, well yesterday. i've been having some pretty bad creative resistance editing pigstep and aria math other projects, so i decided to take a step back and cover a more familiar song, and learn how to up the quality in my vids to 1080p/60fps finally. hope you enjoy!!

so, why Portabellohead of all the CotND songs?? well, it's one of my favorites of course. of all the x-3 levels, this is the only level 3 song that's very relaxed and calm instead of super intense. also, when i started Cryptunes or music in general, Portabellohead was the first song i covered. infact it was like the 5th or 6th chiptune i had ever done, back when i was just a wee naive little 18 year old lol. 4 1/2 years have passed since then, and i've improved a LOT as a chip artist. covering this song helped me sort of center myself in my music :)

so what makes this song different from my old 2-3 cover? back then, i sort of just threw samples together and picked whatever sounded kind of cool. there never really was a formula to how i made any music. nowadays, i have a very rigid picture or flowchart in my head of what sounds should mix on a song, like what type of drums and how harsh or soft the sounds should be. like for Portabellohead, it's very eerie and ominous, yet still relaxing and chill as heck. so i chose really smooth drums, light and airy samples, and even got some VRC7 sounds working on MilkyTracker. it really feels like night and day when you compare the two versions lol

i like how this turned out a lot, even if it is kind of just a different Virt version, but i don't think there's anything wrong with music sounding influenced by Virt after all ;3 very relaxing tune. i hope you'll enjoy!!

oh and i also beat Coda recently :) so now everytime i see my album or Coda in thumbnails, i'm not taunted by feeling like i need to beat them anymore lol
