Prince of Persia (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
70A playthrough of Virgin Interactive's 1992 NES game, Prince of Persia.
Man, I practiced this one so much to make sure my video did the game, and Jordan Mechner's original Apple II classic, justice. I didn't even consider recording until I could do it in under a half hour. It's not a speed-run (I'm sure they're are people out there who can do it faster), but given how much attention has been given to the fantastic rotoscoped animation (especially in how well it translated to an NES game!), it felt wrong to play PoP while running into walls and falling off of ledges all the time. This definitely is one of my all-time best efforts for the game.
Fans of the original 1989 version will probably notice that some of the stages are different. I have no idea why the NES level layouts don't mirror all the other versions, but it still feels pretty close.
Now, if only they could have given it a different color pallette and a better song to play through the whole thing... but still. Great game, great achievement for the hardware, and it's a real test of gaming mettle in a nice, easy to digest package.
