8 Eyes (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
416A playthrough of Taxan's 1990 NES game, 8 Eyes.
This video shows the first loop of the game. There are three total, with each increasing the speed of the enemies further. The endings to the second and third loops follow the natural ending of the playthrough shown.
Oh man, is this game difficult! It's certainly among the most difficult NES platformers I've played. 8 Eyes is an interesting mix of the often-compared Castlevania mechanics with some pretty original ones of its own, like the Orin's falcon Cutrus than you can fling at switches, power-ups, and enemies. You absolutely need him, but the game is MUCH easier with two-players: the second player is solely responsible for the flight of your bird pal, effectively halving the amount that you to pay attention, in addition to being a constant support against the enemies.
It's also important to pick up all of the scroll clues if you haven't played before. You need all of those hints to finish the final puzzle that comes after having coffee with Ruth.
But good luck on those second and third loops. Jesus, they're trying.
