True Golf Classics: Wicked 18 (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Bulletproof Software's 1993 3D golf game for the Super NES, True Golf Classics: Wicked 18.
Wicked 18 is the third and final entry of T&E Soft's SNES golf simulation games (preceeded by Waialae Country Club and Pebble Beach), and it goes all it. It sports full 3D terrain graphics (that actually look really good, even if they're a bit sluggish without any additional processors put in the cart), and unlike the previous two entries, this course is entirely made up. Like it's name suggests, they are all designed to be as challenging as possible (the Japanese version was called Devil Course, if that tells you anything), and they don't fail to live up to that name. The course is loaded with mountains, floating islands, and some generally ridiculous and impossible terrain.
It's probably the hardest golf game, and I loved it. It is a neat change from the standard formula white keeping true to the basics. But that caddy seriously needs to be replaced. Telling me to "keep my eye on the ball" for every putt is hardly useful.
If you'd like to see the absolutely excellent remake, retitled Valora Valley Golf for release on the Sega Saturn, you can check it out here: https://youtu.be/OWcwkUBxP-k
