Project MUGEN: Approach the Roach
Bug.
Character Fought:
Pheromosa EX (Nobod & Vorse Raidier)
Now this one's interesting, I was originally going to use this character for the fight with Oggy in the last video 'cause you know, it's a cockroach. And while I thought they were pretty cool, I wanted to try fighting against them instead and see how it would go. And it turns out it was an interesting fight that required some strategic planning due to how specifically difficult it is. For starters, it's an incredibly fast combo-heavy glass cannon, which if anyone's familiar with competitive Pokemon, is basically 1-to-1 how Pheromosa plays there. But being able to do like half your health with a single combo isn't the only reason why this was difficult. Turns out if you combo it enough it puts down a substitute, which gives it super armor for the time it's up, which eliminates the only thing stopping them from kicking you in the teeth repeatedly. So you just gotta save up meter to take out the sub in 1 hit, but it isn't simple as that, as there's a Poipole helper that will drain a shitton of meter if it hits you, even on block. And much like every other fight that was a huge pain in the ass that took at least half an hour I was able to win 2-0. :/ I probably should have mentioned this sooner but this character is technically unfinished so I wonder how many of these issues would have been fixed if it was fully finished. I also don't know where else to put the fact that their voice clips are just Tharja from Fire Emblem Awakening, another 3DS RPG that I really enjoy, amuses me.
Character Used:
Gengar (Resentone)
While it unfortunately means mugenpoopmaster has been dethroned for making the best Gengar for MUGEN, it does mean it's been the first time in over 5 years that we got a really solid Gengar. It's honestly really amusing to think about the idea of a BBTag styled conversion of a Pokemon Type Wild character.
Music:
Wild Battle (Area Zero) - Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
