PS3 Panic of 2021: The Rush to Buy Games Before the PSN Store Closure
29Update: The same day that I posted this video Sony changed their mind! The PS3 store will not be closing (yet). We'll still get to that point eventually, so keep that in mind as we go forward.
The panic buying is well underway, with the closure of the PSN store coming in August 2021, people are rushing to gather their ultimate PS3 collection. Just like when this happened with the Wii, I am not falling into this trap.
PS3 games will always be accessible, most notably because the console is able to play most backups on all firmware versions and console types.
If you didn't want to buy the game from PSN 10 years ago, why do you want to buy it now?
If you want to make a buck off of this, I would start gathering games that came out on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, but are not backwards compatible on the Xbox One. Come the time the non-backwards compatible 360 games are taken down, these games likely will jump in value too.
