At the Matsugane family office, Hamura berates Higashi for not doing his job. Two of the Matsugane members head out on to the street for a smoke. Suddenly they one of them is approached and shot from behind and then as he falls to the ground, he's shot and killed with innocent bystanders looking on in horror.
In the Yagami Detective Office, I talk to Kaito about the murder. The victim is revealed as Kurimoto, one of the lower ranked Tojo clan members. The police have apprehended the killer who claims he's an office worker, but Kaito says he must be a Kyorei assassin. According to Higashi, he shot Kurimoto 3 times in the body and once in each eye. The Kyorei clan wants a war against the Tojo clan.
Hoshino calls me and tells me to come to Genda's Law Office quickly. When I get there, Saori is accusing Hoshino of eating her cake. Mafuyu is also there. After some deliberation, I work out that the power went out, Genda threw out the cake as it would have gone bad not being cooled in the fridge and that Hoshino was innocent. Genda then comes back into the office to confirm everything.
I head to Charles Arcade to talk to Higashi. He tells me that Hamura has gone into hiding after the shooting and that their office is crawling with police. Kyorei's second in command Satoshi Shioya is in town, a natural born fighter who Higashi believes will be chairman soon and ordered the shooting. He says the killer mistook Kurimoto for Hamura and was accidentally killed. Higashi says the Kyorei clan will probably come for Shintani as he was Hamura's lawyer and the one that got him free.
Kim-San the Korean man calls me but the call is interrupted by Kasai from the Keihin Gang who threatens Kim and tells me to come over if I want to save Kim. When I get there, Kim is on the ground with Kasai standing over him. His associate Renji Honda a tough Keihin Leader wants to fight me. We scrap it out and I eventually defeat him. Kim tells me we should leave. He tells me Renji Honda is one of the Keihin 4, the highest ranking members of the Keihin gang. Kasai, Honda, Sakakiba and Koga and that each of the 4 have their own factions and thugs working for them.
I head to Genda's office to warn Shintani but he's not there. I speak to Genda and he informs me he has a job for me as a bodyguard of a mother going through a messy custody battle as her husband Jin Otaki is ex-Yakuza. Her name is Asuza Otaki and her daughters name is Karin. They're set to appear in court today. Shunei Oikawa a lawyer, is representing Jin Otaki and Genda tells me that Oikawa used to work for him but has started using bribery and blackmail to win cases so he had to fire him.
Genda tells me that Asuza and Karin have gone clothes shopping to look presentable in court and he wants me to see if I can find them. I eventually find her at Le Marche and introduce myself. I ask her if her daughter Karin is around but she says she was just there and must've gone missing. I tell her to stay put and that I will go and look for her in case she comes back. I talk to a woman outside La Marche who says she thinks she saw Karin. I eventually find her and talk to her and tell her the situation. Just then her father Jin arrives and asks what is going on, and then Asuza arrives as well.
Karin proceeds to tear something up and then leaves with Asuza to head back to Genda's office. I pick up the torn paper and head back to the office as well. When I get there, Asuza and Karin are there but Jin is also there along with Oikawa. He wants to settle out of court. Asuza has no intention of giving up Karin but then Oikawa shows everyone his phone with pictures of Asuza and another man.
